Desert Fence Busters
April 12 @ 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Get your gloves and wire cutters ready! We’ll be working on removing stretches of outdated and dangerous barbed wire fencing with the Desert Fence Busters.
Organizers will provide all the necessary tools as well as coffee, snacks, water, and Gatorade during breaks. Please bring a re-useable water bottle and coffee cup. We recommend you bring a lunch.
You can sign up today and learn more information at the Arizona Game and Fish Department website.
HOW TO SIGN UP: You will need to create an account with the Arizona Game and Fish volunteer portal (if you don’t have one already) and then sign up for this specific event.
1. After navigating to the event sign-up page, click the “Respond” button in the top right corner.
2. Click “Sign Up” to create an account and follow the required steps.
3. Once your account is created, including signing the volunteer registration form, you will be sent back to the main sign-up page. Scroll down below the photo to the section titled “Shifts.”
4. Click the “Respond Individually” button and sign up for the event.
*Please Note* Due to logistical constraints, this Desert Fence Busters event is being hosted by Pima County instead of Arizona Game and Fish Department. Sign-ups will be hosted on the AZGFD website for simplicity, but it should be noted that participation in this event will be as Pima County volunteers, rather than as AZGFD volunteers.
For folks that have not participated in one of our Desert Fence Buster Fence Removal days before, we encourage you to check out this orientation step through the process: DESERT FENCE BUSTERS. This is not a pre-requisite to participate, but it is helpful context on what to expect from these events.
